Newport Gnarnia at Wilder Park

Location: Wilder Park, 400 SE College Way, Newport
This event will be staged from the Oregon Coast Community College property. From HWY 101, take the exit on the east side to 40th street. You’ll see an old boat propped up on land at this turn. This road will eventually become SE Harburton street and will dead end into our event space.

Parking: Our Oregon League staff will help you park in the designated parking area at Oregon Coast Community College. Parking is also available along Harborton St. Handicapped parking will be available. Please allow ample time to get into the venue. Do not park in the neighborhood or at The Wilds parking lot.

We acknowledge that these events occur on the traditional homelands of the Yakina, Tillamook, and Siletz Tribes.

The Course

Long-time fan favorite, Newport Gnarnia never disappoints. Riders, sasquatches, and fans all agree this rooty tooty, sometimes slick but always fun course challenges and delights with each lap clocking in at 3.17 miles and 342 feet of climbing. As always, we will finalize the course during the race week, but you can catch a sneak peek of the overall profile here (subject to be mildly tweaked).

Waves

Please arrive 15 minutes before your start time. The following schedule is a draft in progress and will be adjusted to accommodate wave counts.

Registration & Race Plates

There is no on-site registration. Students must register online.

Race plates can be picked up at the merch tent on Friday or Saturday by your team director or head coach. Each rider is assigned a number plate for the season. You will be using the same race plate for your bike for the whole season. If you lose it, you can replace it for $10 at the merch tent.

GRiT - Girls Riding Together

Calling all female riders, coaches, moms, and mentors…gather up! It’s time to ride. During race weekends, we host a GRiT ride at 4:00 pm on both Friday and Saturday afternoons. Meet at the GRiT tent for introductions and to get your ride on.

Volunteers

Our races wouldn't be what they are without our incredible volunteers! If you have a couple hours to spare and want to help make this race happen, sign up online or on-site at the volunteer tent (next to registration). From course marshaling to finish line support to helping stage our riders, we can use your help!

Coach Meeting | Race Day 7:30

Coaches, this is where you’ll get info about the race day, such as risk management, race conditions, and anything else of importance to mention. Sometimes we have to make changes due to weather or other circumstances, so it’s important you’re at the meeting to keep your team and riders informed! Meet near the registration tent.

Camping & Lodging

  • Hotels - Various within town

  • Airport Field - First come, first served with plenty of room for all. We’ll provide the specific location closer to the season. Important: NO FIRES or GASOLINE GENERATORS allowed. Porta potties will be on site and all trash must be packed out.

Important Notes

  • PLEASE DO NOT RIDE IN RESIDENTIAL AREA ADJACENT TO PARKING.

  • Vehicles are not allowed to park in the team pit and infield areas

  • No smoking in the team pit or infield areas

  • No inappropriate language is allowed in team pit or infield areas

  • Any conflicts and/or disputes with any race official or volunteer shall not be dealt with in the team pit area. Violation of this will result in team penalty and/or expulsion from team pit and infield area.

  • No gasoline generators and no open fires on property.

  • Keep dogs on leashes and clean up after your dogs.

  • Pack out all trash. There is no on-site dumpster for refuse.
