Coach Camp
Coach Camp - A Weekend in Oakridge
May 17, 2025
Mark your calendars! We're headed back to Oakridge for our Coach Camp on May 17, 2025. Weβre using this weekend as an opportunity to dive into a variety of topics, such as sports psychology, coaching objectives, bike skills, and so much more.
Joining us at this year's camp is special guest John OβSullivan. John is the founder of the Changing the Game Project and brings to the table a wealth of practical, hands-on knowledge from years of working with players and their families on sport specific development, parenting, coaching, and creating a player-centered environment. This is a workshop you wonβt want to miss.
We've also got a few OTB (On-the-Bike) clinics lined up! On May 16 (Friday), we'll offer OTB 101 from 1-4:30. On May 18 (Sunday), we'll offer on-the-bike 101 and 201 classes. NOTE: Make sure you've completed the 101 clinic before signing up for the 201 one.
NICA Certified First Aid and CPR from Adventure Medics will also be offered on May 18 (Sunday). Register here.
Who should attend: Coaches and team directors (at least one representative from each team, but the more the merrier!)
Why: The intent of this event is to bring our coaching community together to learn, share ideas and collaborate on best practices. Some coaches have been part of the league since we launched in 2018, while others joined within the last year or so. We believe everyone has something unique to add to the conversations we'll be having, and this is a great way to get everybody together and on the same page before the season ramps up. And we get to ride bikes!
Riding: We'll have a group ride leaving from the middle school on Saturday afternoon, and are also working with Cog Wild to set up a shuttle system for those interested in doing some bigger rides.
Accommodations: Free camping (with showers) available on-site for tents, RVs, vans, and trailers. Hotels and Airbnbs are available in Oakridge and Westfir.
Note: A limited number of partial and full scholarships are available for those who need financial assistance. Please fill out this form and we'll let you know how we can help!
